Netherlands
coach Danny Blind has played down reports that Manchester United forward
Memphis Depay was involved in a training ground spat with former Old Trafford
favourite Robin van Persie.
According to
reports, the pair clashed ahead of Saturday's victory over Kazakhstan but Blind
was quick to pour cold water on the incident.
Blind, father
of current United player Daley, says the bust-up had no role in his decision to
leave Van Persie out of his starting XI against Kazakhstan.
Blind said:
"There are sometimes situations in training where players think different.
"Then
you talk about it. That's what happened and then it's over."
Van Persie,
who has netted 49 goals in 100 games for his country, left United to join
Fenerbahce in July, just a month after Memphis arrived at Old Trafford from PSV
Eindhoven.
