Zenit St
Petersburg star Hulk said he blew kisses at supporters during Saturday's game
at Spartak Moscow due to racist abuse from the stands.
Hulk, 29,
complained earlier this summer that he experienced racism in "almost every
game" in Russia and he said his gesture in the final moments of Saturday's
2-2 draw at Spartak was his way of dealing with the abuse.
"Unfortunately,
there is still the same situation with racism from the stands," the Brazil
international said on the club's official website.
"I'm not
going to react -- I've already talked about this -- so I keep blowing kisses to
them all and providing my answer with my performances on the pitch. These
things aren't worth discussing."
Torpedo
Moscow were ordered to play two home games behind closed doors as punishment
after fans directed monkey chants at Hulk during a game in March.
His club
manager Andre Villas-Boas had said at the time: "It's a disgrace to football;
it's a disgrace to the public. That's something that shouldn't happen."
A short
statement from global footballers' union FIFPro via their Twitter account read:
"Hulk deserves a standing ovation for his admirable reaction and composure
to the racist abuse of fans at Spartak Moscow."
